Ely, such a cute little city! This was our boat trip in the river Ouse in Ely. Lovely Sunny Sunday afternoon.

Phillip’s father brought from the north of England a Roman coin for Thomas. He likes travel in his caravan and search for treasures with his metal detector.

Esta es la hermosa ciudad de St Ives al norte de Cambridge.  Construida en la ribera del Gran Rio Ouse, St Ives es famosa por su puente y capilla de piedra medieval y porque fue el lugar donde Oliver Cromwell vivio.

Pueblo dormido, pintoresco, apacible, encantandor… St Ives captura lo idilico… Otra vez! : La tipica cubierta en la cajita de Chocolate.

Me encomende a mi abuelita y aqui estan mis empanadas! de Rechupete! Mi abuelita era una excelente cocinera de empanadas.
Empanadas is a big DEAL in Chilean culture. Hours of preparation, dedication and love for tradition.
This Chilean Empanadas have a very tasty flavor, I would say almost flirting with the Indian taste; must be the cumin.
Onion, sultanas, beef, boild egg, olives a bit of cumin and oregano make THE PINO, that goes inside La masa de empanadas, which is a soft dough - a bit like a cornish pasties, but YAMMIER!

Celebracion del Fin de Ramadan.  

Ramadán (en árabe رَمَضَان ramaḍān) es el noveno mes del calendario musulmán, conocido internacionalmente por ser el mes en el que los musulmanes realizan un ayuno diario desde el alba hasta que se pone el sol.

En la puerta de mi casa pegue una breve leyenda explicando que estabamos de aniversario de Independencia, con bandera flameando simbolicamente, pues solo era un impresion en papel. 

El Viernes hable frente a la clase de Thomas la razon de nuestra celebracion y terminamos con cocadas de manjar, muy polular entre los ninos de Milton Primary.

Cuando llegamos a la casa hice completos/ hot dogs. Bien a la inglesa con cebolla frita y salchichas de Lancashire. Es lo que hay!  A los ninos les encanto y quedaron fascinados.

Sorpresivamente ese dia, mi amiga chilena Viry me dijo que habia un grupo de chilenos que se reuniria en uno de los parques en el centro de Cambridge y para alla fuimos!  Mientras Phillip estaba en Portugal yo estaba comiendo amburguesas improvisadas y disfrutando de un picnic muy singular.  Lon ninos corrieron con otros ninos chilenos, los adultos conversamos por horas en algo muy parecido a una ramada.  La locacion era muy “chilena”, paradojicamente, dos arboles nos daban sombra, un riachuelo en el costado y bellos sauces a la distancia.  

Lo pasamos Tan bien, que se me olvido tomar mas fotografias! Duh!

Cuando veniamos de regreso del parque , camino a Milton, paramos en Nando’s - pues claro! Queriamos seguir celebrando! Mis ninos tenian HAMBRE! OMG!.

Chilean Independence Day!

Viva Chile Mierda!

Mi querida amiga Claudia y su esposo Nelson se fueron a Chile! Ellos estuvieron mas de 3 anos en Cambridge; ella haciendo su doctorado en psicologia en la UCL y Nelson como cientifico en la Universidad de Cambridge. Celulas grises totales! Tiempo de cambios, volver a Chile a aplicar la materia… felicidades y lo mejor! Espero sobrinos luego! jaja!

My dearest friend Claudia and her husband Nelson went back to Chile after spending more than 3 years in Cambridge. She finished her Phd in psicology from the UCL  while Nelson was working as a  scientist in Cambridge University. Time for changes, a new beginning. All the best and hope to hear about babies soon!
